At first, client refused, and as I asked him why, he answered me that it was very expensive that they will just learn to work with the problem. When I asked him more, he told me a different analyst has looked at the problem and told him that the files had corrupted their system and so it will take a minimum of 25 thousand dollars to be fixed. When I told him that it is only a simple matter of wiping the past version and installing it again, he has been stunned. I asked him to walk me through his project as well as the interdependency of his project with our project. Then, I walked him through our timelines and project. As soon as we had the chance to communicate our independent priorities, we can start taking about our shared priorities. In answering this question, you should first know the range offered for that position. In that way, you will be able to focus on getting the range’s high end. If you think that it sounds like an obstinate and obnoxious in not answering the question, then think of the way the interviewer feels about asking more than once. By the time that the interviewer asks you the same question for about two to three times, the interviewer will then know that when they hire you, it means that you will be a tough negotiator on his/her organization, which is another reason for you to make a good salary offer.

20. How soon can you join? What is your notice period?

This type of question does not necessarily mean that you’ve won the job. The interviewer asks this question to you because he/she is trying to identify when you are available and he/she is just planning ahead in case they offer the job to you. It is a very simple but factual type of question.

In answering this type of question, it needs to be straightforward and you should stick to the facts. Tell the interviewer about your existing notice period as well as your remaining leave days because it can help reduce your notice period. You should also decide if you are going to take advantage of the breaks on the job or you will have a week holiday. However, most of the time, employers are very understanding when it comes to the notice period and they are willing to wait if it means that they will be able to have the best candidate for the job they offer.

Sample Answer 1:

That way, you will be given the chance to demonstrate the knowledge you have in the industry.

Timing is also very important in answering this question. It will give you the opportunity to know if the position you are applying for is a good place for you before you say yes. However, the questions you will ask should not appear so self-centered like asking questions about the core benefits you will get from the company because it is a sign that you lack interest about the job being offered to you.
